In-person surveys were conducted together with colleagues at Peking University’s Research Center on Contemporary China (RCCC) in 2004, 2009 and 2014. Participants ranged in age from 18-70 and came from 29 provinces. Tibet and Xingiang were excluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, three rounds of online surveys, at the end of the second, third and fourth quarters, were conducted by the Survey and Research Centre for China Household Finance (CHFS) at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, China. Participants ranged in age from 20-60.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same questions were used in all surveys. To make responses comparable across all four years, the researchers excluded participants aged 18-19 and 61-70 and reweighted all answers to be nationally representative. All surveys contain a margin of error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study has been accepted for publication by The China Journal and is expected to be published in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Researchers for the China Dissent Monitor (CDM) have collected data on \u201cdissent events\u201d across China since June 2022 from a variety of non-government sources including news reports, social media platforms operating in the country and civil society organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dissent events are defined as instances where a person or persons use public and non-official means of expressing their dissatisfaction. Each event is highly visible and also subject to or at risk of government response, through physical repression or censorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These can include viral social media posts, demonstrations, banner drops and strikes, among others. Many events are difficult to independently verify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2004\u5e74\uff0c2009\u5e74\u548c2014\u5e74\u4e0e\u5317\u4eac\u5927\u5b66\u5f53\u4ee3\u4e2d\u56fd\u7814\u7a76\u4e2d\u5fc3\uff08RCCC\uff09\u7684\u540c\u4e8b\u8fdb\u884c\u4e86\u9762\u5bf9\u9762\u8c03\u67e5\u3002 \u53c2\u4e0e\u8005\u7684\u5e74\u9f84\u4ece18\u5c81\u523070\u5c81\u4e0d\u7b49\uff0c\u6765\u81ea29\u4e2a\u7701\u3002 \u897f\u85cf\u548c\u65b0\u7586\u88ab\u6392\u9664\u5728\u5916\u3002
2023\u5e74\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u897f\u5357\u8d22\u7ecf\u5927\u5b66\u4e2d\u56fd\u5bb6\u5ead\u91d1\u878d\u8c03\u67e5\u7814\u7a76\u4e2d\u5fc3\uff08CHFS\uff09\u5728\u7b2c\u4e8c\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e09\u548c\u7b2c\u56db\u5b63\u5ea6\u672b\u8fdb\u884c\u4e86\u4e09\u8f6e\u5728\u7ebf\u8c03\u67e5\u3002 \u53c2\u4e0e\u8005\u7684\u5e74\u9f84\u4ece20\u5c81\u523060\u5c81\u4e0d\u7b49\u3002
\u6240\u6709\u8c03\u67e5\u90fd\u4f7f\u7528\u4e86\u540c\u6837\u7684\u95ee\u9898\u3002 \u4e3a\u4e86\u4f7f\u6240\u6709\u56db\u5e74\u7684\u56de\u7b54\u5177\u6709\u53ef\u6bd4\u6027\uff0c\u7814\u7a76\u4eba\u5458\u6392\u9664\u4e8618-19\u5c81\u548c61-70\u5c81\u7684\u53c2\u4e0e\u8005\uff0c\u5e76\u5c06\u6240\u6709\u7b54\u6848\u91cd\u65b0\u52a0\u6743\u4e3a\u5177\u6709\u5168\u56fd\u4ee3\u8868\u6027\u7684\u7b54\u6848\u3002 \u6240\u6709\u8c03\u67e5\u90fd\u5305\u542b\u8bef\u5dee\u8303\u56f4\u3002
\u8be5\u7814\u7a76\u5df2\u88ab\u300a\u4e2d\u56fd\u65e5\u62a5\u300b\u63a5\u53d7\u51fa\u7248\uff0c\u9884\u8ba1\u5c06\u4e8e2025\u5e74\u51fa\u7248\u3002
\u81ea2022\u5e746\u6708\u4ee5\u6765\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u5f02\u8bae\u76d1\u6d4b\u673a\u6784\uff08CDM\uff09\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u4eba\u5458\u4ece\u5404\u79cd\u975e\u653f\u5e9c\u6765\u6e90\u6536\u96c6\u4e86\u6709\u5173\u4e2d\u56fd\u5404\u5730”\u5f02\u8bae\u4e8b\u4ef6”\u7684\u6570\u636e\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u65b0\u95fb\u62a5\u9053\uff0c\u5728\u8be5\u56fd\u8fd0\u8425\u7684\u793e\u4ea4\u5a92\u4f53\u5e73\u53f0\u548c\u6c11\u95f4\u793e\u4f1a\u7ec4\u7ec7\u3002
\u5f02\u8bae\u4e8b\u4ef6\u7684\u5b9a\u4e49\u662f\uff0c\u4e00\u4e2a\u4eba\u6216\u591a\u4eba\u4f7f\u7528\u516c\u5f00\u548c\u975e\u5b98\u65b9\u624b\u6bb5\u8868\u8fbe\u4e0d\u6ee1\u7684\u60c5\u51b5\u3002 \u6bcf\u4e2a\u4e8b\u4ef6\u90fd\u662f\u9ad8\u5ea6\u53ef\u89c1\u7684\uff0c\u4e5f\u53d7\u5230\u6216\u9762\u4e34\u653f\u5e9c\u901a\u8fc7\u5b9e\u9645\u9547\u538b\u6216\u5ba1\u67e5\u4f5c\u51fa\u53cd\u5e94\u7684\u98ce\u9669\u3002
\u8fd9\u4e9b\u53ef\u4ee5\u5305\u62ec\u75c5\u6bd2\u5f0f\u793e\u4ea4\u5a92\u4f53\u5e16\u5b50\uff0c\u793a\u5a01\uff0c\u65d7\u5e1c\u6389\u843d\u548c\u7f62\u5de5\u7b49\u3002 \u8bb8\u591a\u4e8b\u4ef6\u5f88\u96be\u72ec\u7acb\u6838\u5b9e\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
